History

We are B.Bakker and Son.

The combination consists of the father Bennie Bakker, who is 58 years old and his son Marcel Bakker, who’s 27 years old. My father started with pigeons in 1981 under the Comb. Bakker, but we fly, since 1995, under the name of B.Bakker and Son.

This is a piece from the magazine: "De Vredesduif ”. [= the peace pigeon].

As you can see, I also began early in the pigeons sport. But I know that you must have a lot of patience and perseverance and especially luck in this fine sport. And if you want to reach the top and stay there, you are always looking for better pigeons to make your tribe stronger and stronger.

Achievement summary

1994:

2e Young pigeons from department Twente NBVZ         +/- 900 members.  

We flew this year on our old pigeon house, we copied this pigeon house from Wal Zoontjes. There were bay windows before the pigeon houses were our pigeons could fly through. The pigeons who flew through those bay windows were young ones of the pigeons from “Rechtstreekse J. Oudekerk, Zoontjes en Heesters”. We also bought a few young ones from Sanders and son Nijmegen.

1995:

5e young pigeons from department Twente NBVZ  +/- 900 members

This year we put down some new pigeon houses. One of the houses is 10,00 metres long and 2,50 metres deep and it’s made by hard wood . The other one is 4,50 metres long and 2,50 metres deep and it’s made by synthetic material. We couldn’t get our old pigeons in the same rhythm as last year. 

1996:

We also flew this year a 1^st  Houdeng 6217 pigeons of department Twente NBVZ 

We shouldn’t complain this year. It was a really fine summer with high temperatures and the pigeons were in great shape. We played with 32 fly couples and with 65 young pigeons. In the second young pigeon flied, there flew at last 60 young pigeons. We got a 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place in the Air Sport Vroomshoop. We also got very early in the department Twente. But the best part was that we got 1^st en 2^nd place of the Group brief as the first in the clock.

1997-1998:

We did well these years. But through family circumstance we didn’t had the time and we didn’t feel like going fanatically behind the pigeons. We still flew through al the circumstance 7 times 1^st  in the union (1997). In 1998 we flew a 7e place on teletext from Orleans to the Netherlands. That’s 605 kilometres (NPO department 9) and a 1^st from Unit 9 Circle 1 against +/- 7000 pigeons.

1999:

9e General Un dependent in Unit 9 Circle 1 CC4 against         +/- 250 members

That year we tried to give our pigeons more attention, because we want them to stand with the champions again.

2000:

9e General Un dependent of Unit 9 Circle 1 CC4 against +/- 250 members

This year went very well with the old pigeons. But for being the General you have to be very good in each discipline.

2001:

These years we couldn’t play, because our old neighbourhood was being pulled down.
